More relaxed pop on the second album from the bright and breezy New Zealand band that is Pine.
Presenting the superb second album from the bright and breezy band that is Pine. 'Akira Sunrise' is the perfect companion to summer.
Owing to noise restrictions and the constraints of Pine's recording environment, much of this album was recorded in inner-city Christchurch between 6am and 9am every morning as the sun rose and the citizens made their way to work - allowing the band to find their muse when the town was at it's most languid.
'Akira Sunrise' retains much of the low-key chime and melodic charm of the bands previous releases, but there are also some new and additional sounds creeping into the mix. These include a more fuzzed up hypnotic bass, loops, shimmering guitars and even a few songs longer than the previously favoured two minute snapshots!
The album was mixed and mastered in Auckland by Dale Cotton and features stunning cover art contributed by each member of the band.
"this album instantly sparkles as a brilliant piece of relaxed pop-rock."
