The Bagad du Moulin Vert was formed in 1951 and began to compete in Grade 4 of the National Championships in 1982. By 1988 they had progressed to winning the championship in Grade 3. Moving up into Grade 2 they became champions in 1991 and 1994. Since 1995 they have been in Grade 1 and they have constantly been among the twelve best groups of Brittany. The music is very varied using other wind instruments in addition to the pipes, such as bombardes (kind of oboe from Brittany), Biniou-koz (pipe with one drone) plus various percussion in addition to the traditional drums. An excellent album!
