Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote a Requiem Mass that premiered in New York on 25 February 1985 at St Thomas Church. The Requiem Mass was dedicated to his father, William Lloyd Webber, who had died in 1982.
The composition achieved a Grammy Award in 1986 in the category of best classical composition.
The recording features Sarah Brightman and Placido Domingo with Lorin Maazel conducting.
