Neon Ballroom

Seems like the band we loved to hate as Nirvanas In Pajamas have wised up some since their HSC's… 'Neon Ballroom' is a good record! Blending power balladeering(!), straight-edge rocktasticness and some heavy David Helfgott/Sydney Symphonisation this disc is all over the shop, but with none of the angsting blather of 'Freak Show'… in fact it's hard to believe these are the young grungsters who shugged all over our TVs with "Tomorrow" not so very long ago. Cobain's gone his way, Stone Temple Pilots have gone theirs, but Silverchair have actually got their act together. 'Neon Ballroom' is well worth checking out, and I've got a feeling whatever comes next will be worth a peek too…
