This European imported, digitally re-mastered CD is the superb, sophomore Roxy album, which was originally released in 1973. These eight extraordinary songs are highly recommended listening!
"Formed in 1971, Roxy Music developed their unique art rock sound, inspired by fashion, glamour, cinema, pop art, and the avant-garde. With Bryan Ferry's sophisticated crooning, Brian Eno's electronic genius, Phil Manzanera's original guitar work and Andy MacKay's swirling sax sounds, the band certainly heralded a very talented line-up.
Roxy Music had already created a sensation in Britain with their self-titled debut LP, but with their 1973 sophomore album 'For Your Pleasure', the band perfected their sound on eight extraordinary songs.
"In Every Dream Home, A Heartache" is a brilliantly constructed, eerie number about a fellow's relationship with a blow-up doll, while the hit single "Do The Strand" is a stomping piece of chic rock 'n' roll. The superb tracks "The Bogus Man" and "For Your Pleasure" have an alien quality, with a special, seductive factor to soothe the intensity. The driving "Editions Of You" and sleek, melodic "Beauty Queen" are equally appealing.
Roxy Music disbanded in 1976 after the impressive 'Siren' album, but regrouped two years later, offering an even more stylishly smooth production with hugely popular recordings such as 'Flesh and Blood' and 'Avalon'.
Front man, Bryan Ferry has also enjoyed a highly successful solo career, alongside his work with the group. Since Roxy split again in 1984, he has concentrated totally on his own recordings, although the band did reform in 2003 for another triumphant world tour.
Roxy Music always provided high quality, appealing music, but it is the legendary 'For Your Pleasure' that is still regarded as their finest achievement. Highly recommended!"

Enote :-
'For Your Pleasure' was the last Roxy Music album to include Brian Eno in the line up. Eno is known as a pioneer of ambient music, glam-rocker, hit producer, multimedia artist, and technological innovator... he forever altered the ways in which music is approached, composed, performed and perceived, and everything from punk to techno to new age bears his unmistakable influence. Eno also produced albums for and worked with David Bowie, Talking Heads and U2.
