Recorded June & October 1990. Linda Bouchard's compositional jigsaw 'Pourtinade', Paul Chihara's 'Redwood', clearly-etched as the Japanese wood prints that inspired it, and Dimitri Shostakovich's spectre-haunted Opus 147 are three vastly different pieces which nonetheless reveal a certain kinship of intent when brought together here by Kim Kashkashian.
