Keeping it simple but sounding natural and beautiful.
Not a big change in direction but does it matter? 'The Man Who' certainly cemented their popularity and if it ain't broke there's no point in trying to fix it. Their third album. 'The Invisible Band' is just as natural, likeble, and is a thoroughly easy feeling record. "Sing" sounds quite Beatlesque and the keyboard-led "Humpty Dumpty Love Song" is very sentimental. A humble band, keeping it simple but sounding beautiful.
Travis have a lot of fans, and this CD will make them even happier. In their own words this is 'music for ordinary people', but by no means an ordinary album. With great songs, melodies and production, Travis have also diversified their sound with a bit of banjo and a few new tempos, but without forgoing their trademark sound. Love it - bring out the suede jackets and lager.
