STP keep rock alive and well and living in California.
'Shangri-La Dee Da' is a darker, less commercial affair than expected and the band show that they are maturing and progressing very well, thank you.
This fifth album of their career has a myriad of different feels to it. The lighter poppy numbers like "Wonderful" and "Days of the Week" are offset well by the heavier rhythmic pieces "Sex Type Thing" and "Wicked Garden."
This is a band in their prime who have long moved on from their grungey beginnings to produce good solid rock - all power to 'em!
