Alison Krauss & Union Station
New Favorite

[ Rounder Records / CD ]

Release Date: Monday 23 March 2009

Originally released in 2001, 'New Favorite' features some of the best crossover bluegrass band music around!

Coming to prominance with her 1999 gold-selling album, 'Forget About It', Alison Krauss has also received acclaimed recognition for her material on the soundtrack to 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?' (a collection of mostly mountain and bluegrass music).

'New Favorite' is a happy balance of the contemporary and traditional styles she has explored on these two records and throughout her career. Krauss really shines on the soulful title track, her vocal soft and intimate, creating a beautiful atmosphere. But it's not all sweet and fine, with many tracks having a somber feel.

Overall 'New Favorite' is some of the best crossover bluegrass band music around.
