"You'd have to be a real killjoy to be able to resist this disc. Altogether a real 'feel good' disc."

'These luscious arrangements bear repeated listening: orchestrally colourful and playfully witty..... The Cambridge Singers and BBC Concert Orchestra are on top form throughout.'
Gramophone, October 2001
This album from the Cambridge Singers is a veritable hot-pot of music. The main feature is the new arrangement from John Rutter of seven American spirituals, including When The Saints Go Marching In. That's not all, though, for we have Rutter's Birthday Madrigals, several of Rutter's arrangements of songs and hymns and, finally, the premiere recording of George Shearing's Songs and Sonnets From Shakespeare. This is a deeply rewarding CD, capable of enriching the hardest of hearts, with the Cambridge singers in top form.
