Welcome to the first commercial release from New Zealand's Capitalrecordings...

EARWORK.02 is the sum of many parts - part Design Company, part Student radio show, part newly formed Record Company and all parts style!

In no time at all, Radio Active's Jewell School hosts, Zen and Andy raided the shelves of local musicians and respected international labels (Ninja Tune/Mantis/Ubiquity) alike, to source tracks for EARWORK.02.

EARWORK.02 stands as a testimony to the high quality of music being born, created and recorded in bedrooms, bathrooms and beach houses on these fine shores, with 7 tracks out of the 10 selected from local outfits.

Check the exclusive opening cut from Fat Freddys, Mu & Dallas, the hint of things to come from Wellingtons Dub Connection, the wicked Beatless track featuring Mark de Clive-Lowe, Mark Rae's remix of London's Atjazz, the gorgeous tune from Tubbs featuring Hamish Clarke, DJ Vee's double contribution under his name, plus cuts on the Jet Jaugar track and Talkin Loud's 4Hero drum n bass reworking of jazz guru Chris Bowden.

The manner in which EARWORK.02 follows from one blissful beat to another is as much to do with the tracks themselves as well as the skill in which they were chosen and sequenced!

All in all a breathtaking selection of bedroom beats that deserve to be heard by a wider audience. OUTSTANDING!
