'White' is the sequel to Kieslowski's 'Blue'. In this story we follow the life of a Polish hairdresser, Karol, who lives in Paris. We enter Karols life, whilst his life is a sexual and financial flop. To make matters worse his French wife Dominique, is divorcing him. He is left without a franc to his name, his only possession is a suitcase full of diplomas and tools of his trade.
Karol decides during a telephone conservation with his ex-wife that their life together may be at the end and he should hang up and leave her and her new lover to have sex on their own. Karol decides to go back to Poland and make it big as a hairdresser. After a misfortunate start back in Poland, Karol does make it big.
He is the absolute capitalist and knowns the power of money. But all the burgundy, chauffeur driven Volvo's and Russian corpse's that he can buy are nothing compared to Dominque. If he could give all that he had, his money, his power even his life just to have her love back he would.
