Mathieu Dufour has been First Flute of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Mathieu Dufour was born in Paris in 1972.
He studied in Paris and Lyon, and was awarded a Premier Prix with congratulations, by unanimous vote of the jury, at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Lyon.
He was a prize-winner at the Jean-Pierre Rampal International Competition and the Budapest International Competition, and was awarded second prize at the Kobe International Competition.
Mathieu Dufour is a laureate of the Juventus Foundation.
In 1992, at the age of twenty, he was appointed First Flute of the Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse.
In 1995, he became 'super-soliste' in the Orchestra of the Opéra-Bastille.
Since 1999, Mathieu Dufour has been First Flute of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
