"These strikingly empathetic performances shouldn't be missed, and the sound is outstanding." (BBC Music Magazine)
Abbado's Ravel is both sophisticated and sensuous, with a huge dynamic range (for example, in the complete Daphnis and Chloe) that can blow your mind out at certain points.
The partnership of Abbado and London Symphony Orchestra is a guarantee of top-quality performances.
These are all digital recordings from the late 1980s and early 1990s.
The 3-CD set offers over 195 minutes of ravishing Ravel!
"The sophistication and power of these performances is something to marvel at."
Gramophone, 07/1991
