This Double Decca contains the only available recording of Johann Strauss's ballet Aschenbrödel (or Cinderella) in a truly delightful performance by the National Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Richard Bonynge.
Also included in this set are the Ballet Music from Ritter Pásmán as well as Le Beau Danube. These recordings show that Richard Bonynge is perhaps the greatest expert when it comes to performing ballet music. Also available in the Decca Collector's Edition series is a set of ballet miniatures, 468 578-2.
