MARBECKS COLLECTABLE: Handel: Oratorio Arias

"David Daniels, has long cherished the wish to make a disc of English Handel - as opposed to the Italian of the operas. He made this selection with help from colleagues and it perfectly shows off his supreme abilities in this music. He admitted to me when I interviewed him that he wanted to cram in as many of the Theodora numbers as he could - and they're certainly welcome. His really is a beautiful voice, far removed from the traditional 'churchy' countertenor timbre."
