Filmed at The Staples Center in Los Angeles on August 18th 2001, this video is loaded with Clapton favourites, including Layla, Cocaine, Wonderful Tonight, Sunshine of Your Love, and Tears in Heaven and also features more recent titles, such as Reptile, Change the World, and My Father's Eyes. The set closes with a rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
Clapton is backed by Nathan East (bass), Steve Gadd (drums), Andy Fairweather Low (guitar), Greg Phillinganes and Billy Preston (keyboards), and former E Street Band member David Sancious (keyboards and guitar). He has hinted the 2001 tour may be his last.
According to a statement by Clapton, the title for this project was inspired by "a fairground ride attendant". He heard the man calling out, repeatedly, 'One more car, one more rider!' to fill the last seat in the last car available for each ride."
"One More Car, One More Rider" is Clapton's first concert set since his landmark 1992 "Unplugged," which won multiple Grammys.
