This is an original collection of very diverse SoaD songs from the vaults. Most of these songs were originally recorded for the 'Toxicity' album but have been refined and completed exclusively for this collection.
'Steal This Album' is an original collection of very diverse System Of A Down songs from the vaults, encompassing flavours and colours from System's inception, 'Toxicity' era material, and a gate to newly paved pathways.
Most of these songs were originally recorded for the 'Toxicity' album but have been refined and completed exclusively for this collection.
'Steal This Album' was produced by Rick Rubin and System's guitarist Daron Malakian, and mixed by Andy Wallace (who mixed "Toxicity").
The album also includes an acoustic song, "Roulette", which Daron Malakian began writing seven years ago and features only Tankian (vocals) and Malakian (vocals, guitar).
In addition, various 'interludes', 'intros' that have been used on the band's tours, and other musical tidbits are woven throughout the CD.
There are 4 limited-edition versions of the album available (while stocks last) featuring a CD label designed by each of the band members.
'Steal This Album' is a highly-anticipated continuation to the critically acclaimed multi-platinum 'Toxicity' and is a bridge to their next studio album.
'Toxicity' has sold in excess of 4-million copies worldwide and was named one of the Best Albums of the Year (2001) in publications such as Rolling Stone, Time, Spin, and Alternative Press.
Reviews have illustrated that System of a Down are far more than just "another metal band":
