100th Window

[ Virgin Music / CD ]

Release Date: Monday 10 February 2003

Massive Attack are back with their fourth album, '100th Window' and like all the Massive Attack albums, it is a ground-breaking mood altering panorama, this time heavily influenced by Eastern sounds.

'100th Window' is a giant step into warm glitchy electronica, psychedelic landscapes, Arabic strings and deep into the depth-charged dub reggae of old. 3D - explains: "We wanted to make this album warmer than Mezzanine, but we didn't want to make it softer. We wanted to keep the edge and the intrigue, but without making it bleak."

Massive Attack have always been musical innovators, pushing barriers forward with every record. They are one of the UK's most inspirational and influential bands - all three of their studio albums have met with huge critical and commercial success and their musical legacy has provided the blueprint for a sound that influenced a whole generation of dance and pop acts alike.

Massive Attack's long time collaborator, Horace Andy, appears on the album alongside Sinead O'Connor who adds her raw spirit and emotion to three tracks including the dark, soul-dusted, string drenched single, "Special Cases".

Massive attack produce slow burn music - The kind that seeps into your consciousness over time; the kind you'll find wandering through your mind late at night as you go to sleep; the kind that many of your non-converted friends will think is highly over-rated.
