"The chorus sing as 'a teeming multitude' gathered to commemorate Pushkin's centenary"
- Editor's Choice (Gramophone September 2003)
"Valéry Polyansky's Chandos discography grows apace and his cycle of the Glazunov symphonies already embraces six of the works. Glazunov has yet to achieve the recognition he deserves - his is a confident, late-Romantic voice that, while disdaining modernist advances, provides rich melodies and strongly built works. The Cantata commemorating Pushkin's 100th birthday is most appealing and receives a suitably fervent and idiomatic performance under Polyansky."
