Beginning in the '50s, 'Amandla!' traces, through its joyous, defiant music, black South Africa's long struggle for liberation from white domination over five decades, culminating in Nelson Mandela's famous 'Madaba Jive' as he became South Africa's first black President in the mid-'90s. These are songs of rebellion, mourning, pride and despair.

The movie 'Amandla!' played to rapturous audiences at 2003 International Film Festival.

Featuring tracks from Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masekela, Abdullah Ibrahim, Vusi Mahlasela and a host of other groups, choirs and accomplished yet unknown African vocalists.
