Kate's wonderfully emotive voice isn't the only gift she possesses. Combined with a deft lyrical touch, her beautiful balladry & rustic folk has clearly grown from the seeds of Southern bluegrass rather than between the cracks of the Grand Central street.
Her work on 'St. Eustacia' has seen Kate drawing strong comparisons with the likes of Natalie Merchant, Gillian Welch, Beth Orton, Kristen Hersh and a far more indie-sounding Dido, allied to the strength of Nina Simone.
