'N'Awlinz Dis Dat or D'udda' was recorded at the famous Piety Street recording studio in New Orleans. Dr. John has been active in the music industry since the 1950s, when he was a teenager going by his given name of Mac Rebennack.
Taking the listener on a musical journey from 19th Century classical style right through Mardi Gras and jazz to the present day, 'N'Awlinz Dis Dat or D'udda'truly is a unique reflection of the myriad sounds of New Orleans, as seen through the eyes and ears of one of the city's great living artists, Dr John.
The self-styled 'Night Tripper', Dr John is a true music visionary with a unique ability to blend rock, blues and r'n'b into a unique 'voodoo' music. This was first witnessed on his '60s debut album, Gris Gris.
Over the years, artists such as Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, Paul Weller and Supergrass have contributed to the Dr's albums, and his eccentric live shows have made him a living legend.
With 'N'Awlinz Dis Dat or D'udda', Dr. John's expertise is matched by that of legendary producer Stewart Levine, while the special guest quota is nothing short of dazzling: Willie Nelson, BB King, Snooks Eaglin, Randy Newman, Earl Palmer and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band are just a handful of the big names contributing their talents to the collection
Complimenting the CD is a picture-packed booklet, which features short notes for every track, written by the inimitable Dr John himself.
