Held from 2001 - 2004 in the shifting sands of northern Mali, The Festival In The Desert brings together a mix of desert nomads and pop stars to play sublimely enchanting music in some of the most starkly beautiful conditions imaginable.
This album was recorded live at the 2003 Festival and features Robert Plant, Tinariwen, Malian superstars Oumou Sangare and Ali Farka Toure, Mauritanian singer Aicha Bint Chinghaly and many more. 20 tracks all up.
