The Earlies' stunning debut unveils a unique combination of layered vocals, imaginary instruments and subtle electronics.

"An outstanding record you would be unwise to miss."

Produced on both sides of the Atlantic and with a palette of sounds almost as wide, The Earlies' stunning debut 'These Were The Earlies' unveils a unique combination of layered vocals, imaginary instruments and subtle electronics.
Residing in Northern England and Western Texas, the Earlies musical influences are wide-ranging enough to embrace Future Sound Of London, Gillian Welch and the three 'B's [Beach Boys, Beatles and Byrds]. Truth is, all get a gracious nod on 'These Were The Earlies', alongside more obscure psychedelic, progressive, leftfield and country influences.
"Oboes, cellos, Mercury Rev-esque psychedelia, a deft lyrical touch, tunes more gorgeously soothing than a head massage from Helena Christensen and all shot through with spine-tingling slivers of electronica."
- Guardian
The lovingly crafted music found on 'These Were The Earlies' sees The Earlies stepping outside the square and working their headphone fireworks into a physical psychedelic hoedown. This is an outstanding work of underground pop wonder.
"A work of baroque detail as if journeying awestruck through some imaginary Wild West."
