This box is a collection of some of the finest recordings made by the master cellist Janos Starker. His death last year prompted warm obituaries across the world's press, and this collection celebrates his life's work. It includes key cello works in distinguished performances, from Bach's cornerstone solo suites, to some lesser known Italian Sonatas, the two classic Brahms sonatas, and three concertos by Schumann, Dvorák, Lalo and Saint-Saëns. The accompanying booklet includes three separate elements - an overview on Starker's contribution to recording, Starker's own notes on recording and the original album essays.
Packaging: Cap box.
56-page booklet includes new article by Tully Potter, recording notes by Janos Starker himself and original essays from each of the albums, reproduced in clear modern Decca type style, offering exceptionally comprehensive presentation.
Each card wallet presents not only the original front cover, but also the original rear.
Various pictures of both Starker and Antal Dorati.
