Telarc presents The Best of Bach, a spirited selection of works by Bach, both choral and instrumental, performed by some of Telarc's most highly acclaimed artists.
This distinctive collection features a wide variety of works by the baroque master, ranging from the Allegro from the Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 to the sparkling sounds of the solo harp in Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, and the glorious solemnity of the choral Sanctus from the Mass in B Minor.
Some of Telarc's most outstanding artists are showcased on this recording: the acclaimed period instruments ensemble Boston Baroque with Martin Pearlman; the late Robert Shaw with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Chorus; solo harpist Yolanda Kondonassis; organist Michael Murray; pianist John O'Conor; trumpeter Rold Smedvig; and Erich Kunzel leading the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra in an arrangement by Stowkowski.
