The Beat Fanatic sound is all about cutting, re-editing and chopping up those old school rhythms from the '60s, '70s and '80s. Funk, disco, samba, jazz, soul, hip hop, latin, reggae and dub are all in the mix, but always with great respect to the original recordings in order to get that authentic feel. After beginning as a guitarist with a great love for The Clash, dub and reggae, Sweden's Ture Sjoberg aka Beat Fanatic, began his new musical journey upon discovering Run DMC and Def Jam in the mid-80s. After years of tweaking and tooling with his sound, Sjoberg managed to get his demo to Swedish label Raw Fusion, who saw the potential. Eventually released in '03, the 12" single 'Joganda Capoeira / Cookin' has since gone on to become the biggest selling record on the Raw Fusion label.

So now he drops his debut CD 'Adventures In The World Of No-Fi Beats', which, just like its history, is all about those black retro grooves. Regardless of musical styles you can be sure it's all coming down to beats, packaged with a raw element of dirty funk.

Previously available on vinyl only, this album contains many a track that has previously sent collectors into a frenzy. Jammed with an amazing level of energy and overflowing with original cuts, scratches and hooks, there is so much here that is so very good.

The Raw Fusion label began life as a clubnight featuring artists such as A Tribe Called Quest, Snowboy, Gil Scott-Heron, Laurent Garnier, Gilles Peterson, The Roots and Jazzanova, before branching out and releasing the music they love.
