The long-awaited return to form of Bob Mould, one of the major figures of American music of the '80s and '90s - with Husker Du, Sugar, and as a solo artist.
'Body of Song' is the long-awaited return to form for Bob Mould, one of the major figures of American music during the last 20+ years. His signature guitar sound, songwriting style and voice defined the melodic hardcore punk sound of the '80s with Husker Du, and led the alternative charge in the '90s with his band Sugar.
Written and recorded mostly over the course of 2004 - 2005, 'Body of Song' is Mould's first new album-length release since 2002. Its also his first since the mid-'90s to employ a guitar-heavy full-band approach ("Paralyzed" / "Circles") as well as a few subdued, acoustic-based ballads ("High Fidelity" / "Days of Rain") and some new twists, such as the electronically treated vocals riding atop waves of guitar on "(Shine Your) Light Love Hope".
Guest musicians that feature on 'Body of Song' include Brendan Canty (Fugazi), David Barbe (Sugar), Matt Hammon (a member of Bob's touring band from 1998) and Amy Domingues (Garland of Hours).
