Black Dahlia Murder's appeal is visceral and dark, a terror filled exploration of extreme sounds and vicious brutality. This is seriously heavy music with clearly stated intent.
Metal Blade continue their track record for releasing incredibly aggressive and heavy metal music...
Not quite black metal, metalcore or thrash metal, The Black Dahlia Murder mixes up these three elements instead of adhering to any one genre and the result is a hard-hitting, chaotic heavyweight of an album, their second on Metal Blade, 'Miasma'.
The Black Dahlia Murder quickly established themselves at the forefront of the burgeoning US metal scene when they released their debut for Metal Blade in 2003, 'Unhallowed'. The album was critically lauded and started an epic journey for the band that has seen the Detroit quintet on tour nonstop and essentially has lead to the release of 'Miasma'.
The band have played with groups as diverse as The Red Chord, Napalm Death, Arch Enemy and Terror, while they're also confirmed to be playing at 2005 Ozzfest, alongside some of the biggest names in heavy music and hard rock.
'Miasma' is the latest chapter in the ever-twisted saga of The Black Dahlia Murder. Like the long unsolved murder of the Hollywood starlet from whom the band took it's name, The Black Dahlia Murder's appeal is visceral and dark, a terror filled exploration of extreme sounds and vicious brutality. This is seriously heavy music with clearly stated intent.
