Cinder

Dirty Three are without doubt one of the most prestigious Australian acts on the international music scene.

'Cinder' marks their seventh studio album in 14 years and the first on which they have welcomed a vocalist into their fold!

Formed in Melbourne in the early '90s, the three members of the band are now based in different corners of the globe, occasionally regrouping to record or to tour. The release of a new Dirty Three album is always an exciting time for fans and the release of 'Cinder' is no different. What is different though, is the record itself.

The songs are short and very dynamic - which is really saying something considering the usual depth of feeling in their music - and not since the award-winning 'Horse Stories' has the band sounded so in tune with each other.

They've also brought in vocalists for the first time ever: Chan Marshall aka Cat Power and Sally Timms [The Mekons] both appear, while 'Cinder' is produced by Casey Rice [Tortoise] ensuring a rich tapestry of sound is woven.
