Pianists Christoph Eschenbach and Justus Frantz are old hands at playing the piano and piano duets. Originally recorded by EMI.
Pianists Christoph Eschenbach and Justus Frantz are old hands at playing the piano and piano duets. They both have international careers as solo pianists and conductor (Esschenbach). Although some of the most leading pianists play and record music "à quatre mains", the genre has somehow retained its "Hausmusik" image. But unjustly so!
On these 4 CD's Esschenbach and Frantz tackle the greater part of the repertoire Schubert wrote for four hands on one piano. Great fun to play and it "shows"! So also most enjoyable to listen to.
