Daniel Barenboim recorded Mendelssohn's famous Lieder ohne Worte for DG in 1973.
Originally released on LP, it has been continously a part of the catalogue. It was released on CD in the mid 1980's and is now available as part of the reduced-price "2 CD" series.
On entering the 2 CD series, further Mendelssohn works recorded by Barenboim were added, in order to make a fuller coupling. These works include Kinderstücke op.72, Gondellied, 2 Klavierstücke and Albumblatt op.117.
