City Life: Underground London

'City Life' brings together the coolest "underground” labels - those at the forefront of house music - to present a collection of house ranging from loungey, sophisticated vibes to the four-to-the-floor main room smashes, the sound of the city represented. So, befitting a label based in the UK, the first double CD release in the 'City Life' series is entitled 'Underground London'.

Disc one features selections from Kinky Vinyl, mixed by label boss Joel Xavier, with a collection of massive dancefloor tracks, including two "essential new tunes” as selected by Pete Tong: "Revolution" by Stephane Malca feat. Kenny, & Wonderland Avenue's "White Horse", which is shaping to be a huge smash. The rest of the tracklist, as you can imagine, is filled with gems, from Mike Monday, Marshall Jefferson, Sucker DJs, Nathan G & Paradise Soul.

Disc two features The Rhythm Slaves & their label Soussol Records. The mix is by Kid Massive, a regular feature on both The Rhythm Slaves' tracks & his own, also on Soussol. This collection is the perfect compliment to Kinky Vinyl's - it's a mix of stunning deep, jazzy grooves loaded with great vocals & live instruments.

The Rhythm Slaves prove time & again their skill in writing & producing the type of music most associated with late night cocktail bars & boutique hotels across the world. Add the collaborations with Mettle Music, Brian Tappert [Soulfuric], Grant Nelson & stunning vocals from James Sampson, & the mix swings with more than a sprinkling of latin flavour.
