Ravel's one-act ballet 'Daphnis et Chloé' features some of the composer's most alluring and exotic music. Ravel referred to this work as 'symphonie chorégraphique' - a large-scale, colourful musical journey through the sensual world of Daphnis and Chloé.
Myung-Whun Chung and his orchestra explore Ravel's cosmos of orchestral colours.

Based on a mystical tale of pastoral love in ancient Greece it was commissioned in 1909 by Diaghilev for his famous Ballets Russes but not premiered until June 1912 - then overshadowed by the scandalous premiere of Stravinsky's 'Le sacre du printemps'.
Myung-Whun Chung conducts the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France - whose music director he has been since 2000 - in this superb display of the overwhelming colourfulness and strengths of early 20th-century French orchestral music.
