Was it chance or musical providence that brought Joseph Haydn and Anton Weidinger together in 1796? Whatever the case, the key technique developed by him for the trumpet and presented in 1798 after seven years of work hardly would have celebrated a major breakthrough without the corresponding Concerto in E flat major by Haydn.
Hybrid/SACD - playable on all compact disc players
Was it chance or musical providence that brought Joseph Haydn and Anton Weidinger together in 1796? Whatever the case, the key technique developed by him for the trumpet and presented in 1798 after seven years of work hardly would have celebrated a major breakthrough without the corresponding Concerto in E flat major by Haydn. A new interpretation of this work forms the center of this new recording of the trumpet concertos of Joseph and Michael Haydn. The Württemberg Chamber Orchestra of Heilbronn under Ruben Gazarian is the perfect match for the soloist Wolfgang Bauer.
