It all started in the early '90s at the Good Life, home of the West Coast underground hip hop scene in L.A. and the boot camp for artists like Freestyle Fellowship, Kurupt, The Pharcyde and Black Eyed Peas. Every Thursday night, a young cat by the name of Pigeon John would come out from the quiet streets of Hawthorne, CA to showcase his songs and skills. For the next several years, he grew and learned how to truly rock any crowd, whether it be hip hop or punk rock, he would adapt and relate to them with honesty. He was booed, he was praised and he was honed to become one of the most prolific MCs of his time.

Pigeon John is a maverick of this West Coast scene, regularly touring with the likes of Matisyahu, Aceyalone, Blackalicious, Fat Lip and Trey [Pharcyde], Digable Planets and Jurassic 5. He's also part of the group LA Symphony, who have underground classic albums to their name, and he has shone brightly on countless guest appearances. This man has toured the US eight times over!

On his 'Pigeon John and The Summertime Pool Party' album, he blends strong, catchy melody with infectious, bouncing rhythms. He combines heartbreak and hip hop and washes away stereotypes. His songs tie the ear down and enrapture – perhaps because not only is he uncut and raw, but also hilariously honest. Sure, this is party hip hop, but not quite as you know it!

Pigeon John features on the latest Blackalicious album, is on the new Lyrics Born single, while his earlier material can be heard on the XBOX games 'Project Gotham' and 'NBA Inside Drive'. He also wrote the feature song in the movie 'Get Over It', starring Kristen Dunst and Sisqo. His independent debut album, 'Pigeon John is Clueless' has sold over 11,000 copies out of the trunk so far, while his follow up 'Pigeon John Is Dating Your Sister' washed away any stereotypes, as Pigeon John spearheaded a new funloving genre.
