This album captrues Nuru's range of influences, from his blues-led solo songs, reminiscent of Ali Farka Toure, through to the driving gnawa trance that forms the backbone of his pulsating live performances.
"With his musicians on oud, ngoni and frame drum, Kane is a commanding presence. With his guimbri (large Gnawa Lute) he creates a taught, spare an mesmerising web of music."
- Songlines
