The American Friend (Directors Suite)

Based on Patricia Highsmith's bestseller Ripley's Game, Wim Wenders' cult hit stars Dennis Hopper as the American sociopath Tom Ripley, and Bruno Ganz as Jonathan Zimmerman, an art restorer dying from a rare blood disease. After Zimmerman refuses to shake Ripley's hand, Ripley takes the slight to heart and in retribution, arranges for the family man to carry out a high-paying mob hit. But the two begin to form an uneasy bond as the dying man spirals out of control in a pan-European world of deceit and double-dealing.

Legendary American filmmakers Nicholas Ray and Samuel Fuller co-star in this worldwide cult hit directed by Wim Wenders, who also personally oversaw the restoration.
