El Perro Del Mar has been likened to '60s French Pop, a melancholic Jane Birkin, a lo-fi Phil Spector, Ice Queen Doo Wop and a contemporary Swedish Nico. Yet these comparisons only take you halfway into understanding the true sound of this remarkable album!
After releasing a handful of singles and EPs in and around Sweden, Sarah first gained international attention after she worked with fellow countryman Jens Lekman and released a split 10” vinyl single on Jens' American label Secretly Canadian. It quickly sold out in a matter of days!
'06 was a busy year for El Perro Del Mar: she has been playing around Europe, accompanying beautiful acts such as Calexico, Jose Gonzalez and the Concretes, as well as a very special Christmas concert together with Jenny Wilson.
This NZ / Australian edition of 'El Perro Del Mar' is packed with an extra 4 bonus tracks, including songs from the EPs as well as songs culled from the UK version of the album, and a brand new, previously unreleased song!
