QOTSA rock again, with their fifth album - this NZ version contains two bonus tracks. Guests include Mark Lanegan, The Strokes' Julian Casablancas, Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor, and Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top.
Queens Of The Stone Age are ready to rock again, with their fifth album, 'Era Vulgaris'. This New Zealand version contains two bonus tracks - the non-album recordings "Running Joke" and "Era Vulgaris".
The project features 11 songs, including tracks such as "Misfit Love" + "Run Pig Run". The former is an ominous boogie-rocker with robotic vocals & fuzzed-out guitars crowding the mix, while the latter closes the disc with a bizarre mix of balls-out rock, siren-like guitar shredding, sudden tempo changes & chanted singing.
Other highlights include the fast, powerful "Sick, Sick, Sick", "Battery Acid", the psychedelic "I'm Designer" and "Suture Up Your Future." Longtime collaborator Mark Lanegan guests on "River in the Road". 'Era Vulgaris' also features performances by The Strokes' Julian Casablancas, Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor, and Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top.
