Fribo was formed in 2003 and combines Scandinavian, Scottish and English traditions with an exuberant feel for contemporary sounds and rhythms.
The group is based around the beautiful and subtle vocals of Norwegian born Anne Sofie Linge Valdal, BBC Scottish Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2003 finalist fiddle player, Sarah-Jane Summers, and guitarist/mandolin player and vocalist, Ewan MacPherson. All have plenty of experience both performing and recording: Anne Sofie was lead singer with Jim Sutherland's Celtic Connections commission, 'Cold Weather Dancing', Sarah-Jane has worked with The Grand Union Orchestra and The Unusual Suspects and Ewan is a member of the acclaimed Scottish band, Malinky.
Fribo are represented by Scotland's premier roots music agency, Stoneyport. This exciting band can only go from strength to strength.
