The 6th Derek Lind album was recorded in collaboration with long-time friend and musical cohort Steve Garden (one time Producer Of The Year, NZ Music Awards).

Steve not only produced and engineered, but also added drums and percussion to the recordings. Derek basically played and sung each song live on acoustic guitar (most are one-takes).

Later, additional instruments were added by a small and select group of stellar players, notably Clinton Brown (ex-Warratahs) on acoustic bass guitar and Alan Brown (Blue Train, Mistake Theory) on Hammond and Wurlitzer. Derek added additional electric and acoustic guitars and Dobro.

12 Good Hours Of Daylight is an album which cares enough about the listener to engage them in the struggles, the debate and the issues that Derek raises. Its intimacy, understatement and subtlety require careful attention and commitment, but we believe that such engagement will be richly rewarded
