East London's Tunng present an aural collision of past and present on their third album. Formed back in '03, Tunng was formed by the core duo of Sam Genders and Mike Lindsay, though on 'Good Arrows' they're joined by 4 other musicians and an array of new instruments, combining finger-picking acoustic guitars and quirky slide guitar with gentle synthesised beats, hand-claps and sing-along melodies.

Good Arrows' marks a significant development for Tunng - they've expanded beyond the "folktronica" label to become a fully fledged {if experimentally-skewed} pop band - they've reached maturity as a band, not just as a vehicle for Genders and Lindsay's studio work.

While 'Good Arrows' retains the sense of experimentalism that is Tunng's calling card, as well as their deliciously dark lyrics and bizarre samples, 'Good Arrows' is entirely different to anything they've done previously - this is easily their most accessible album to date. It's a heart-warming triumph and their best offering yet!

As a side note, Genders had always resisted performing live with the band, preferring to remain a shadowy figure side stage - until the release of 'Good Arrows', which has seen him join the band live for the first time ever!
