"Act" is the première recording on Ondine of Norvegian composer Rolf Wallin - one of Scandinavia's leading composers and a figure of increasingly international renown who celebrates his 50th birthday in 2007. Three of his works are featured in world première recordings by one of Scandinavia's leading orchestras: The Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra performs under the baton of respectively Jaap van Zweden (Act), John Axelrod (Das war schön!) and music director Jukka-Pekka Saraste (Tides). Das war schön! features young Austrian percussion star Martin Grubinger (born 1983; chosen "Rising Artist 2007/08" by the European Concert Halls Organisation and recipient of the "Bernstein Award" at the 2007 Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival); Performing in Tides is the Swedish Kroumata percussion ensemble, which commissioned the piece in 1998.
