From the Philip Glass Archive - Vol. 2: Orchestral Music represents the second release in a series discs to be released on Orange Mountain Music from the vast archive of recordings made in the last 40 years of Philip Glass' incredible recording career.

These recordings span the entire range of Philip Glass' compositional activities and will include music for film, theater, dance, and concert hall in a wide variety of scores including chamber music, solo instruments and orchestral works.

Days and Nights in Rocinha is a luscious 23-minute musical tribute to a Brazilian neighborhood which Philip Glass' frequented in the 1980's and 1990's. This vivid score, a "Dance for Dennis Russell Davies and Orchestra" is performed by the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra.
The second work on the disc is titled Persephone. A 5-movement, 27 minute tour-de-force for orchestra and voices is an original score for a Robert Wilson theatrical installation from 1994. Persephone is performed by The Relåche Ensemble.

Orange Mountain Music seeks to bring many of these works to the public for the first time in the continuing effort to expand and document the Philip Glass recording legacy.
