"Singing in a haunting, sensual wail... she adds a layer of softness to an unusual mix of synthesizers, dance-hall rhythms and percolating new wave."
- New York Times
"Picture a cross between the blaring, day-glo internationalism of M.I.A. and the alley-cat yowl of Yeah Yeah Yeah's Karen O and you'll have a pretty good handle on Santogold, aka New York-based producer-turned-songwriter Santi White."
- Q Magazine
"As influenced by bhangra as snot-nosed punk, Santogold is culture-clashing pop for the 2010s."
- BBC
A debut album hasn't been this anticipated globally in a very long time!
Santogold is a totally original blend of new wave inspired pop, bass heavy dancehall and dub, electro, hip hop and sounds which is very difficult to classify! With a few tracks leaked online, some early radio support and a small amount of live shows, the buzz around Santi White aka Santogold, has reached fever pitch!
After fronting punk band Stiffed, working in A&R for Epic and writing songs for other acts, Santi started working on her own music with her incredible network of friends - which includes the likes of Diplo, Switch, Disco D, Sinden, MC Spank Rock, Chuck Treece (drummer with Bad Brains), Clifford "Moonie" Pusey (of reggae legends Steel Pulse), producer Jonnie "Most" Davis (OutKast, Mary J. Blige, Notorious BIG) and more. This is on top of collaborations and tours with Bjork, M.I.A., Mark Ronson and Lily Allen!
There won't be an album in '08 that will please the underground AND the mainstream like Santogold will!
