Dr Glam is here. Classy hi-fi meets sexy sci-fi. Splitting the divide between human and alien, male and female, jazz and glam, he's being sighted around Dunedin now. Platforms a-pumping, white eyes a-staring, platinum hair a-spiking, hang drums a-humming and sequins a-sparkling.

'Glitter Spreader' is the debut release from Dr Glam and features the world's newest and strangest musical instrument, the Hang Drum. Dr Glam is a 50/50 mix of glam rock and smooth jazz, a visual and aural hybrid in spandex, sequins and makeup, spawned amid science fiction imagery with a huge dollop of androgyneity and possessing an enormous respect for the trash aesthetic. He plays the hang drum /f lying saucer and strums his glitter guitars while singing about fashion and things that are cool - such as lurex and robots and Miles Davis and David Bowie.

Accompanying Dr Glam in his nefarious activities is an array of fine New Zealand musicians including Frank Gibson (drums), Murray McNab (keys /synths), Trevor Coleman (keys /trumpet), and Billy Lang (guitar) among others.

The CD also includes a bonus DVD featuring live footage of the Dr Glam experience.
