"It's a joy from start to finish, and I've never felt this close to Haydn in these famous early symphonies before. Highly recommended."

"It's a joy from start to finish, and I've never felt this close to Haydn in these famous early symphonies before. The Freiburgers deserve to sell shed-loads of this...and I hope no-one will be put off because there isn't a well-known conductor or music-director on the cover. Ego-less entertainment, highly recommended."

Inspired by Vivaldi's 'Four Seasons', these Haydn symphonies illustrating the different times of the day - except for night, which is absent - are amongst the very first works the composer was required to write for the Esterházy court.
These three admirable symphonies feature concertante parts that provide brilliant dialogue between the solo instruments.
Symphonie n°6 "Le Matin"
Symphonie n°7 "Le Midi"
Symphonie n°8 "Le Soir"
