Ancient Flight Text

'Ancient Flight Text' is Gianmarco Liguori's second album as group director of an ongoing series of experimental recordings. It features Murray McNabb (composer for 'Once Were Warriors') and Kim Paterson.

This disc falls somewhere in the middle of a mixture of recordings from the likes of Nicola Conte; John Coltrane; Omar Rodriguez Lopez; Broadway Project; and Miles Davis - who's 'A Tribute to Jack Johnson' springs to mind.

Gianmarco guided the proceedings by enabling the musicians to express their own ideas within the preconceived framework. The music was mostly improvised in the studio and its complex textures & dynamics often materialise out of the rawest of moments.
